Hatay to Become a Regional Logistics Hub Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu has shared the latest developments regarding the Dörtyol-Hassa Railway and Highway Project, which is set to transform Hatay’s transportation and trade potential.
Emphasizing that the project will turn Hatay into a strategic regional logistics center, Uraloğlu stated that the transportation network will be modernized through tunnels passing under the Amanos Mountains.
Amanos Mountains to be Crossed by 20-Kilometer Tunnels As part of the project, three separate tunnels totaling approximately 20 kilometers in length will be constructed under the Amanos Mountains to overcome geographical barriers.
This infrastructure is designed to provide a direct link between the industrial zones and the port, bypassing difficult terrain.
€1.55 Billion Investment and 157-Kilometer Shortcut Regarding the financial details of the investment, Uraloğlu announced that €1.55 billion in external credit has been secured for the project.
With the completion of the new route, the existing transportation paths for both rail and road are expected to be shortened by 157 kilometers.
This reduction is aimed at increasing the trade volume in the region and providing significant savings in logistics costs, further integrating the region's economy with international markets.
