Borsa Istanbul in 2026: Foreign Inflows and Leading Sectors

Foreign Investor Interest and Market Dynamics Borsa Istanbul is entering a new growth phase driven by increasing interest from foreign investors.
From the beginning of the year until the week of February 13, approximately $8 billion in foreign capital flowed into the stock and bond markets.
This figure surpassed the total foreign inflow of 2025 within just the first month, while 11 consecutive weeks of net purchases indicate a significant restoration of market confidence.
Sectoral Performance and Current Outlook In 2025, the financial leasing and factoring sector led the market with a 392% increase, followed by brokerage firms at 114% and the technology sector at 104%.
Since the start of the current year, stocks such as Destek Finans Faktoring (DSTKF), Batı Söke Çimento (BSOKE), and Katılımevim (KTLEV) have drawn attention for their high performance within the BIST 100 index.
Expert Insights: Focus on REITs and Retail Financial analyst Tuncay Turşucu predicts that Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) will gain value alongside interest rate cuts and economic revitalization.
Turşucu noted that companies with strong shopping mall portfolios will be particularly advantaged, while also highlighting potential in food retail, consumer electronics, apparel, and furniture sectors.
Additionally, food companies that produce their own raw materials are expected to remain prominent in a high-inflation environment.
Strategic Companies and Investment Recommendations According to analysts, large-scale companies with high global competitiveness—such as Turkish Airlines, Aselsan, Enka, TAV Airports, Coca-Cola İçecek, Aksa Enerji, and Kale Kimyasal—will play a leading role in this upward trend.
Experts recommend that investors consider professionally managed funds rather than individual stock selection, stating that this strategy offers a safer haven against speculative market movements.
