Speaking at the 4th European Games Coordination Commission Meeting, Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak highlighted Turkey's sports infrastructure transformation and stated that Istanbul is ready for the 2027 European Games.

Osman Aşkın Bak made significant statements during the 4th European Games Coordination Commission Meeting held in Istanbul.
The meeting, attended by Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, European Olympic Committees President Spyros Capralos, and representatives from the Turkish National Olympic Committee, evaluated Istanbul's organizational capacity for 2027.
Minister Bak emphasized that Istanbul will successfully manage this process with its logistical strength, facility infrastructure, and organizational capability.
Stating that Istanbul is a highly experienced city in every aspect, Bak said, "We have the power to realize these games with our logistics, capacity, sports facilities, and management organization.
We are united as one heart for this organization." A Major Transformation in Sports Facilities Expressing that Turkey is rapidly progressing toward becoming a sports nation, Minister Bak noted that a "sports facilities revolution" has taken place in the country.
Highlighting that the most modern stadiums, indoor sports halls, and swimming pools in the world and Europe are rising across Turkey, Bak stated that Istanbul has become a global hub hosting many international organizations.
International Organization Experience Providing examples of Turkey's past organizational successes, Minister Bak reminded that the country possesses extensive experience.
He noted that the Mediterranean Games in Mersin, the Deaflympics in Samsun, the Universiade Winter Games in Erzurum, and the Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya were successfully completed.
Bak also emphasized that major events such as Formula 1, UEFA Champions League finals, and the Presidential Cycling Tour have proven Turkey's capacity.
Minister Bak added that Turkey's investments and projects in the field of sports will continue unabated, supported by modern facilities, a strong federation structure, an international communication network, and logistical opportunities.
