Minister Osman Aşkın Bak Inaugurates Kamil Ocak Sports Hall in Gaziantep

Youth and Sports Minister Osman Aşkın Bak inaugurated the Kamil Ocak Sports Hall and launched the 4th Gazi Games in Gaziantep, calling on youth to adopt active lifestyles to combat obesity.

Kamil Ocak Sports Hall Opens for Service Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak attended the opening ceremony of the Kamil Ocak Sports Hall and the 4th Gazi Games in Gaziantep.
During his speech, Minister Bak emphasized that the "Century of Turkey" vision would be the century of youth and sports, stating that investments in sports will continue without slowing down.
Expressing his satisfaction with the rapid completion of the project, Bak noted that the new facility will host significant competitions in various branches, particularly basketball and volleyball.
He extended his gratitude to the Ziylan family and Mehmet Büyükekşi for their contributions to the realization of the facility.
The ceremony was also attended by AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Abdulhamit Gül, Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin, and Mehmet Büyükekşi on behalf of the Ziylan Group, all of whom highlighted the role of sports in social development.
International Success and the Importance of Sports Touching upon Turkey's recent achievements in international sports, Minister Bak recalled the proud rankings of national athletes.
He cited the European second-place finish of the A National Men's Basketball Team, the world second-place finish of the Women's National Volleyball Team, the world championship of the Women's National Taekwondo Team, and Furkan Özbek's world championship in weightlifting as examples of the progress in Turkish sports.
Warning to Youth: Obesity and Healthy Living In his address to the youth, Minister Bak warned that obesity is one of the greatest health threats of the modern era.
Inviting young people to adopt an active lifestyle, Bak drew attention to the importance of sports with the following words: "We are calling out to all young people; let's stay away from junk food, do sports, stay active, and study hard.
Let's continue to work together for a growing, developing, and strong Turkey." Following the ceremony, the opening ribbon was cut, and the torch for the 4th Gazi Games was lit.
Minister Bak also participated in a program at the Gaziantep University Mavera Culture and Congress Center as part of the city's liberation day events, delivering messages of unity and solidarity.
