Access Block for Illegal Betting Advertisements The Ministry of Trade has intensified its inspections of digital platform content that threatens public order and consumer safety.
The Ministry announced that inspections against such content, which leads to consumer victimization, will continue with determination.
7.6 Million Lira Fine for E-Commerce Platforms Following ex officio investigations conducted by the Board, it was determined that knives—whose possession and production are prohibited within the country or whose transport is subject to specific regulations—could be obtained uncontrollably through e-commerce platforms.
It was assessed that safety rules were not observed during the sales and promotion processes, and that this content posed a risk to public safety and could encourage behaviors that disrupt public order.
Cease and Desist Orders for Non-Compliant Promotions As a result of the evaluations, cease and desist orders were issued for seven e-commerce platforms featuring non-compliant advertisements.
Additionally, it was decided to impose administrative fines totaling 7,585,942 Turkish Liras on the platforms in question.
The Ministry emphasized that it will continue to monitor digital spaces to ensure compliance with regulations and protect the public interest.

The Ministry of Trade's Advertising Board has blocked access to illegal betting advertisements and imposed 7.6 million TL in fines on seven e-commerce platforms for the unlawful sale and promotion of knives.
