8 Detained in Muğla-Based Fake Social Media and Disinformation Operation

Operation Details and Detentions Eight suspects have been taken into custody following an operation targeting disinformation and threatening content shared via fake social media accounts.

Identities of the Suspects Among those detained are three journalists: H.T.
from Menteşe, M.T.
from Milas, and S.C.B.
from Fethiye.
The operation also resulted in the detention of O.A., identified as a former provincial chairperson of a political party, along with individuals identified as M.G., S.K., U.K., and H.B.
The eight suspects are currently undergoing interrogation at the police department as part of the ongoing legal process.
Background of the Investigation This latest wave of detentions follows an earlier phase of the investigation conducted several months ago.
In that previous operation, numerous individuals were detained, and two suspects were subsequently arrested and sent to prison by judicial authorities.
