Snow Depth Approaches 1.5 Meters on Tracks Sarıkamış Ski Resort in Kars, one of Turkey's leading winter tourism destinations, experienced heavy visitor traffic during the weekend break.
Known for its scotch pine forests and the rare crystal snow structure found in few places worldwide, the resort recorded a snow depth of 145 centimeters on its second-stage tracks.
With 10 different tracks totaling 30 kilometers in length and five modern chairlift lines, domestic and foreign tourists enjoyed skiing and snowboarding in the sunny weather.
Families also took part in sledding with their children, bringing the tracks to maximum capacity.
Season to Continue Until April Resort officials stated that the current snow reserves will allow the season to continue uninterrupted until April.
Official Cümşit emphasized that the amount of snow on the tracks is highly satisfactory, stating: "There is approximately 1.5 meters of snow on the tracks.
This reserve will carry us through to April.
We are hosting a large crowd and invite all ski enthusiasts to experience this unique atmosphere." Gizem Gürdal, visiting from Ankara, noted that she chose Sarıkamış for its track quality, while visitor Fatmanur Yıldız expressed that the region's natural beauty and crystal snow make the skiing experience unique.
