TurkStat Announces February 2026 Confidence Indices: Increase in Retail Trade, Decrease in Construction

TurkStat Announces Sectoral Confidence Indices for February 2026 The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) has released the seasonally adjusted confidence indices for the services, retail trade, and construction sectors for February 2026.
The data reveals a mixed performance across different areas of the economy, with retail trade showing growth while the construction sector experienced a decline.
According to the official figures, the retail trade confidence index saw the most significant movement, increasing by 2.9% compared to the previous month to reach 115.9.
This indicates a strengthening of sentiment within the retail sector as of February.
Services Sector Remains Stable In contrast to the fluctuations in other sectors, the services sector confidence index remained unchanged in February.
The index held steady at 113.8, maintaining the same level recorded in the previous month.
Decline in Construction Confidence The construction sector, however, faced a downturn during this period.
The seasonally adjusted confidence index for construction decreased by 2.1%, falling to 83.9.
This decline highlights ongoing challenges or a shift in sentiment within the building and infrastructure industry.
