EPDK Approves BOTAŞ's 2026 Natural Gas Investment Program: 26.5 Billion TL Budget

Giant Budget for Strategic Investments The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) has finalized the 2026 natural gas transmission network investment program for the Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAŞ).
According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, a total budget of 26,492,654,030 TL has been allocated for BOTAŞ's investments during the specified period.
The approved funds will be utilized for projects aimed at modernizing Turkey's national natural gas transmission infrastructure, strengthening the network, and increasing existing capacity.
These investments aim to reinforce energy supply security and bring transmission lines up to modern technological standards.
Strict Supervision and Spending Rules The EPDK decision established strict rules regarding the implementation of the investment program.
It was emphasized that project-based allocations cannot exceed the determined ceilings, and expenditures for any project not included in the program will not be permitted.
Furthermore, the use of investment funds for non-investment purposes is prohibited.
Any changes to the 2026 national transmission network investment program will be subject to Board approval.
To ensure transparency, BOTAŞ will prepare progress reports on the investment program every six months.
Reporting Process and Oversight As part of the monitoring mechanism, BOTAŞ will submit reports covering the periods of January 1–June 30 and July 1–December 31 to the EPDK.
These reports must be submitted to the authority no later than 30 days after the end of the respective period.
This will allow for close monitoring of the multi-billion TL projects' adherence to schedules and the efficiency of resource utilization.
