Single Document Goal for Global Trade The Halal Accreditation Agency (HAK) is focusing on removing technical barriers to international trade in line with its 2025 strategic goals.
The agency's core vision is built on ensuring the free movement of products in the global market with a single halal certificate.
To date, 128 of the 227 applications submitted to the agency have been accredited, while over 70 applications that did not meet the minimum requirements were rejected.
As a result of these processes, the halal certification of more than 2,500 businesses has been secured, establishing discipline in production and consumer trust.
Sectoral Diversity and Laboratory Audits Accreditation processes, which initially focused only on food products, have been expanded to cover a wide range of sectors including food service, food packaging, cosmetics, tourism, logistics, and accommodation.
Through laboratory accreditation, the compliance of products with health, hygiene, and safety standards, as well as religious rules, is verified through impartial analysis.
This inspection mechanism increases the reliability of Turkish products in both local and international markets.
New Era in Imports and International Training HAK is also preparing to tighten its inspections on imported products.
A new Import Communiqué currently under preparation is expected to restrict imports made with certificates issued by organizations that do not have HAK accreditation.
As part of the work carried out within the framework of SMIIC standards, more than 1,600 professionals from 35 countries have been trained to date.
These initiatives aim to consolidate Turkey's competitiveness in the export of halal products and services on a global scale.
