Former Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Kasapoğlu addressed the institutionalization of sports and the fight against digital disinformation during a series of panels in Izmir.

Sports Management and Infrastructure Former Minister of Youth and Sports and AK Party Izmir Deputy Mehmet Kasapoğlu shared comprehensive evaluations regarding the future of sports management and digital media during two separate panels held in Izmir.
Kasapoğlu first attended the "Professional Approaches in Sports Management" panel organized by Izmir University of Economics, where he discussed the institutionalization process of sports.
Emphasizing that recent successes in Turkish sports are the result of long-term strategy and accumulated experience, Kasapoğlu noted that sports development is a process requiring patience.
He highlighted the importance of a strong management approach, systematic talent identification, and a sustainable ecosystem.
Kasapoğlu stated that Turkey has become globally competitive in branches such as gymnastics, archery, athletics, and sailing, attributing this to nationwide facility investments.
He argued for strengthening the guiding role of scientific approaches and academia in sports management.
Ethics and Combating Disinformation in Digital Media In the second part of the program, Kasapoğlu participated in the closing panel of the Digital Media Pioneers Young Communicators Project (DİMGİ), conducted by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications Izmir Regional Directorate.
He issued warnings against information pollution in the digital world.
Stating that disinformation is a serious element threatening social peace, Kasapoğlu said that responsibility and conscience are as vital as speed in digital platforms.
He emphasized that the future of digital media should be focused on people and ethics rather than just technology.
Kasapoğlu expressed that communicators should not only transmit information but also be individuals who protect the truth and human dignity.
Reminding that trust should not be sacrificed for likes and clicks, Kasapoğlu concluded his remarks by thanking all stakeholder institutions contributing to the project, which aims to provide young people with critical thinking skills.
