Macron Calls for Transparency at AI Summit: "Algorithms Must Be Disclosed"

AI and Technology Cooperation French President Emmanuel Macron made significant statements at the artificial intelligence cooperation conference held in New Delhi, India.
Highlighting that France and India are utilizing AI for the public good, Macron announced the establishment of a new center led by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Sorbonne University, and the Paris Brain Institute.
Addressing educational goals, Macron reiterated the target of increasing the number of Indian students in France to 30,000 by 2030, inviting young people to pursue their education in France.
Emphasis on Algorithms and Freedom of Expression Pointing out flaws in the current digital system, Macron underscored the need to protect children against the potential dangers of artificial intelligence.
He argued that freedom of expression should not be overshadowed by algorithmic manipulation and stressed the importance of transparency.
"Freedom of expression is a complete fallacy if you do not know how you are being directed." During the summit, Macron addressed leading companies in the technology sector, calling for full transparency in the production and implementation processes of algorithms.
He emphasized that this step is essential for the protection of democratic values and individual freedoms.
