BIST 100 Index Closes at 14,259 Points: Banking Sector Leads Gains

Market Overview at Borsa Istanbul The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul completed the day at 14,259.90 points, gaining 32.61 points or 0.23% compared to the previous close.
During a session where the total trading volume reached 293.1 billion lira, the index fluctuated between a low of 14,154.24 and a high of 14,532.67 points.
Sectoral Performance and Leading Stocks The banking index provided significant support to the market with a 1.55% increase, while the holding index closed the day down by 1.01%.
Among sectoral indices, financial leasing and factoring emerged as the top performer with a 5.51% gain.
Conversely, the transportation sector was the biggest loser, dropping by 5.00%.
The stocks with the highest trading volumes for the day included: Turkish Airlines (THY) ASELSAN Türkiye İş Bankası (C) Ereğli Demir Çelik Astor Enerji Global Markets and Commodity Prices In global markets, volatility increased due to geopolitical risks stemming from news regarding the US-Iran axis.
Investors remained focused on the upcoming release of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting minutes from the US Federal Reserve.
In the commodity markets, the price of Brent crude oil rose by 3.2%, trading at $69.1 per barrel.
Market Outlook and Technical Levels Analysts noted that on Thursday, domestic data to watch includes housing sales, the consumer confidence index, and short-term external debt stock.
Internationally, the Eurozone current account balance and US foreign trade balance data will be in focus.
From a technical perspective, the BIST 100 index faces resistance at the 14,400 and 14,500 levels, while support is positioned at 14,100 and 14,000 points.
