BIST 100 Index Surpasses 14,000 Point Threshold: Banking Stocks Lead the Rise

The index completed the day at 14,061.71 points with a 0.92% gain, recording an increase of 127.66 points compared to the previous close.
With activity continuing throughout the day, the total trading volume reached 278 billion 650 million TL, confirming strong capital flow in the market.
While the banking index closed the day with a 2.23% premium, the holding index lost 0.46% in value.
On a sectoral basis, the most notable increase occurred in financial leasing and factoring at 8.60%, while the transportation sector showed the weakest performance of the day with a 1.14% decline.
Brokerage Firm Buy and Sell Traffic According to data from February 23, 2026, Yapı Kredi Yatırım ranked first on the net selling side with 1 billion 118 million TL.
It was followed by QNB Yatırım with 969 million TL and Bank of America with 703 million TL.
Deniz Yatırım recorded net sales of 556 million TL, while TEB Yatırım saw 496 million TL in net sales.
On the buying side, İş Yatırım topped the list with a net purchase of 1 billion 213 million TL.
Midas Menkul Değerler completed the day with 740 million TL, Tera Yatırım with 638 million TL, Gedik Yatırım with 628 million TL, and Ak Yatırım with 531 million TL in net purchases.
Market Outlook and Expectations The distribution among brokerage firms indicated that while large-scale investors engaged in profit-taking in some stocks, strong buying continued in selected sectors.
Analysts state that the BIST 100 index maintaining its position above the 14,000-point level strengthens expectations that new resistance levels could be tested from a technical perspective.
