Market Overview and Index Performance Although general selling pressure dominated the main indices at Borsa Istanbul last week, certain sectors and stocks decoupled positively from the market with their performances.
The BIST 100 index traded in the range of 13,718.14 to 14,532.67 points throughout the week, completing the period at 13,935.06 points with a 1.74% loss.
The BIST ALL index declined by 1.70% on a weekly basis.
Out of 662 stocks traded on the exchange, 163 closed the week in the green.
This situation indicates that selective stock activity continued despite the overall weak outlook in the market.
Sectoral Highlights The strongest performance of the week was exhibited by the Financial Leasing and Factoring index, which rose by 28.20%.
Other sectors that managed to stay in positive territory included: BIST IPO: 7.99% BIST Technology: 3.20% Mining: 2.53% Brokerage Houses: 1.69% Stock-Based Movements and Top Gainers Despite the general decline in the indices, several stocks attracted investor interest with high premium rates.
BESTE, with a 60.92% increase, and GUNDG, with a 41.46% increase, were among the top gainers of the week within the IPO index.
In the financial leasing sector, DSTKF rose by 35.64%.
In the technology sector, ODINE gained 33.84% and DOFRB increased by 18.44%, driving the sector index higher.
Additionally, TRMET in the mining sector completed the week with an 11.35% premium, while OYYAT in the brokerage houses sector rose by 10.46%.
