The Seriousness of Law and Trust in Justice Neşet Gündüz, President of the Antalya Branch of the Consumers Union, emphasized that the legal profession is a public service, highlighting the responsibilities of independent defense as a founding element of the judiciary.
Gündüz stated that the responsibility of being a founding element of the judiciary requires lawyers not only to defend the rights they represent but also to strengthen trust in justice.
He emphasized that attitudes undermining the seriousness of the law damage society's faith in justice.
Legal Regulations and Unfair Competition Referring to Article 55 of the Attorneys' Law No.
1136, Neşet Gündüz noted that lawyers are prohibited from using titles other than their academic ones on signs and printed papers to obtain business.
He stated that such behaviors constitute unfair competition.
Gündüz warned that social media posts that open the door to misinformation by arbitrarily interpreting legal provisions could be considered "defective service." He added that the social media presence of legal professionals must comply with professional ethical rules.
