The determination was made following an investigation and expert reports that confirmed the nature of his statements.
Defense Cites Health Issues and Alcohol In his statement to the prosecutor's office, Deniz Sinan Demir admitted to using the expressions in question.
Claiming that he was under the influence of alcohol and suffers from bipolar disorder at the time of the incident, Demir provided the following defense: "I am a bipolar patient and I should not consume alcohol.
I must also use my medications regularly.
The remarks regarding Sunnis mentioned in the expert report belong to me, but I made them under the influence of alcohol and my illness." Demir stated that the broadcast took place at a friend's house in Kınalıada while he was drinking.
He requested to be released, asserting that he is not someone who would normally use such expressions and noting that he is also a Muslim.
Court Orders Arrest The court panel decided to arrest Deniz Sinan Demir, taking into account the available evidence, expert reports, and the specific nature of the crime.
Following the court's ruling, Demir was transferred to prison.
