Man Whose House Was Cleared of 20 Trucks of Trash Dies After Falling from Roof in Sakarya

Background of the "Trash House" İsmail Tosun, a 76-year-old resident of the Yeni Mahalle neighborhood in Sakarya's Akyazı district, recently gained public attention after tons of waste were removed from his home.
Following complaints from neighbors, municipal teams launched a cleanup operation on February 17.
It was discovered that the lower floor and the garden of the two-story house were completely filled with waste.
During the two-day evacuation operation, which was carried out under the supervision of police and municipal officers, approximately 20 trucks of trash were removed from the property.
Fatal Accident During Repairs Following the completion of the cleaning efforts, Tosun climbed onto the roof of a warehouse in the İnönü Neighborhood to perform repairs.
While working, he lost his balance and fell from a significant height.
Witnesses at the scene immediately reported the incident to emergency services.
Health and police teams were quickly dispatched to the area.
The elderly man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries; however, despite all medical interventions, he could not be saved.
Law enforcement authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
