Traffic and Public Transport Congestion in Istanbul on the First Workday of the Week

Traffic at a Standstill on Main Arteries On the first working day of the week in Istanbul, heavy traffic is affecting both sides of the city.
Vehicles are struggling to move in some areas along the D-100 highway, TEM Motorway, and their connection roads.
On the Anatolian Side, significant congestion is observed around Tuzla, Kartal, Ataşehir, and Uzunçayır.
On the European Side, traffic flow has slowed down considerably on the Avcılar, Mecidiyeköy, Zincirlikuyu, and Haliç Bridge routes.
As traffic flow on the main roads connecting to the bridges occasionally comes to a halt, drivers' search for alternative routes has also caused congestion on side roads.
Heavy Crowds at Public Transport Hubs In addition to the traffic, significant activity is being observed at public transport points.
Large crowds have formed at critical transfer centers such as Cevizlibağ, Mecidiyeköy, Zincirlikuyu, and Altunizade as citizens try to reach metro, metrobüs, bus, and tram services.
Authorities are warning drivers to obey traffic rules and, if possible, to prefer public transportation.
