Press Support Reaches 5.2 Billion Lira

General Manager Abdülkadir Çay delivered a speech outlining new support measures and plans for the press sector.
Financing and Support During the meeting, sessions were held in 58 provinces through 11 regional offices, attended by 684 representatives of periodicals.
Çay highlighted that the partnership with the Credit Guarantee Fund (KGF) has enabled faster access to credit and collateral for press businesses.
In the first eight months of 2026, total financing transferred to 60 periodicals reached 131 million TL; over a 15‑year period, 154 million TL in support was disbursed.
Education and Legislation Practical legislative training sessions were organized in 10 regional offices.
An online survey launched via İLANBİS analyzed the expectations of internet media.
The training was tailored to the sector’s real needs.
Future Vision “Our common goal is a stronger, higher‑quality, digitally adaptable Turkish press that preserves its own memory and looks confidently toward the future.” – Abdülkadir Çay Çay stated that efforts are underway to increase the 5,248,000,000 TL support.
Meeting Outcomes The Presidential Board was elected, the Board of Directors and auditors’ reports were read, and committees began their work.
The proposals presented in the final session on September 11, 2026, will be adopted.
BİK will continue developing new programs and financial instruments to support the sustainable development of the press sector.
