Following pension increases, the Turkish government is considering raising holiday bonuses to between 5,000 and 6,000 TL, with the first payments scheduled for March 2026.

The government is continuing preparations to increase the holiday bonuses paid to retirees in line with current budget possibilities.
According to information from Ankara, three main formulas are being considered for the bonus amounts.
Three Different Scenarios on the Table While the first scenario envisions increasing the current amount to 5,000 TL, other formulas evaluating budget possibilities discuss raising the figure to 6,000 TL.
If the 6,000 TL formula is implemented, a retiree will receive a total of 12,000 TL in additional payments across two holidays.
Even in the lowest increase scenario, the total annual payment is expected to be around 10,000 TL.
Scope and Application Requirements Not only retirees but a wide range of individuals will benefit from the holiday bonuses.
The groups eligible for payments include: Recipients of widow and orphan pensions Champion athletes Relatives of martyrs and veterans Security guards Beneficiaries will be able to benefit from these payments in proportion to their own shares.
2026 Payment Schedule and Critical Dates New retiree candidates who wish to benefit from the 2026 Ramadan Feast bonus must submit their applications by February 28, 2026.
Those who complete their application by this date will be able to benefit from the payment in March.
According to the schedule, payments are planned to be transferred to bank accounts between March 9 and March 15, ahead of the Ramadan Feast, which will be observed between March 20 and March 24.
