Expert Warning: Biometric Data Risk Prof.
"Facial data occupies a far more critical position than ordinary personal data.
Every photo is converted into a detailed dataset of facial features, including eyes, nose, and jaw structure," he said.
Risks Deepfake and fake content: High‑resolution facial data can be used to create realistic fake images in environments where the person never existed.
Identity theft and reputation attacks: Malicious actors can use the data for identity impersonation, fake visual production, and reputation attacks.
Background danger: The photo may inadvertently upload home address, school, vehicle plate, location, or other people’s faces to the system.
Recommendations Prof.
Kırık advised users to be cautious when sharing photos and to consider the potential privacy implications of AI‑enhanced images.
