Three Scenarios on the Table for 2026 Retiree Holiday Bonus Increase

Technical Work Initiated in Ministries Technical studies have been launched under the coordination of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security regarding the 2026 holiday bonus increases, which millions of retirees are eagerly awaiting.
The practice, which began in 2018 with 1,000 TL and was increased to 4,000 TL in 2025, is planned to be revised in the new period within the framework of inflation and budget discipline.
Three Different Figures on the Agenda The economic management is focusing on three main scenarios.
According to information leaked from behind the scenes, the first option is to increase the bonus to 5,000 TL, while other alternatives are being evaluated as 5,500 TL and 6,000 TL.
The aim is to maintain a balance between budget possibilities and the purchasing power of retirees while determining these figures.
Payment Schedule and Legislative Process According to the 2026 calendar, the Ramadan Feast will be observed between March 20 and 24.
The legal regulation regarding the bonus increase is expected to be brought to the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) during the month of Ramadan.
Payments are anticipated to be deposited into retirees' bank accounts between March 9 and 14, the week before the holiday.
