Collaboration for a Strategic Future The final report of the Antalya Olive Oil Workshop, prepared in collaboration with the Antalya Commodity Exchange (ATB), the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, and the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, has been released to the public.
Developed with contributions from academics, producers, and tourism sector representatives, the report provides a comprehensive future projection for the region's olive oil industry.
Focus on Quality and Branding The report emphasizes that Antalya’s climatic advantages and current production capacity must be supported by quality standardization and a strong brand identity.
These strategic steps aim to increase the competitiveness of local production in the international market.
From Ancient Heritage to Modern Production Highlighting Antalya’s olive oil production tradition dating back to the ancient Pamphylia period, the report stresses the importance of blending historical heritage with modern techniques.
The key strategic objectives identified for the future of the sector include: Transitioning to a quality-oriented production model Increasing product traceability through technological infrastructure Accelerating geographical indication and branding processes Integrating the olive oil sector with the tourism industry Establishing an "Olive Oil Coordination Board" to manage all processes from production to export 2026-2035 Vision ATB President Ali Çandır stated that the strategy covering the 2026-2035 period aims to make Antalya olive oil a sustainable and globally recognized brand.
Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Şakir Fırat Erkal noted that cooperation between the public sector, universities, and the industry will play a critical role in the rapid implementation of technical applications in the field.
The final report clearly outlines the technical and administrative steps necessary for Antalya olive oil to enter a new era in terms of quality, market access, and branding.
