The lottery for 3,276 social housing units to be built across Çanakkale has been completed, with beneficiaries selected from nearly 30,000 applicants in a ceremony held before a notary.

Social Housing Excitement in Çanakkale A lottery ceremony was held to determine the beneficiaries of 3,276 housing units to be implemented as part of a social housing project across Çanakkale.
The ceremony, conducted in the presence of a notary, was attended by provincial protocol and numerous citizens.
Housing Needs and State Support Speaking at the ceremony, Çanakkale Governor Ömer Toraman emphasized that housing demand has become a significant social issue alongside increasing population and urbanization rates.
Stating that the state continues its projects through the Housing Development Administration (TOKİ) to meet this need, Toraman noted that the process, which began with 50,000 houses, has evolved into a massive vision of 500,000 houses today.
Earthquake-Resistant and Modern Urbanization Fatih Ekmekçi, General Manager at the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, stated that the project is a great opportunity offered under state guarantee for low-income citizens.
Ekmekçi noted that their primary goal is to build earthquake-resistant cities with completed infrastructure and distinct identities, providing living spaces with secured ground conditions within the framework of social justice and equal opportunity.
Distribution by District and Application Details Fuat Kuşçu, Head of the TOKİ Istanbul Real Estate Department, announced that a total of 29,800 citizens applied for the project, which covers the Çanakkale city center as well as the Ayvacık, Biga, Çan, Ezine, Gelibolu, and Yenice districts.
Kuşçu expressed that the families determined by the lottery will live in modern, peaceful, and safe homes.
Following a prayer by Provincial Mufti Mustafa Bilgiç, the lottery drawing began, turning the homeownership dreams of thousands of citizens into reality.
