Demir explained that the broadcast, conducted from a friend's house on Kınalıada, was initially intended for conversation.
He confirmed that the derogatory statements regarding Sunni citizens, as documented in the expert report, belonged to him.
"I consumed alcohol during the broadcast.
I have bipolar disorder; normally, I should not drink and must take my medication regularly.
I said these words under the influence of my illness and alcohol.
I am not normally such a person; I am also a sincere Muslim," Demir stated in his defense.
Expressing regret, the influencer requested to be released under judicial control measures.
Court Decision and Arrest The duty judge, evaluating Demir's statements and the evidence in the file, ruled that the elements of the crime of "Publicly Inciting Hatred and Hostility" had been met.
Determining that judicial control measures would be insufficient, the court ordered Demir's arrest and he was subsequently sent to prison.
