President Erdoğan Warns Governors Against 'Power Poisoning' and Social Media Misuse

Presidential Address to Governors President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered significant remarks during the Governors' Meeting held at the Presidential Complex.
Addressing the country's top local administrators, the President focused on the ethical responsibilities of public service and the preservation of state dignity.
Warnings on Social Media Use Erdoğan highlighted the risks associated with the digital age, noting that the pursuit of engagement can sometimes compromise professional standards.
"While the privacy of individuals is violated, scenes emerge that do not befit the seriousness of our state.
Communication efforts then turn into either a communication accident or a communication crisis." The President emphasized that public officials must exercise the highest level of sensitivity, ensuring that digital platforms are not used in a way that damages the dignity of the state.
Avoiding 'Power Poisoning' Stressing that public service requires immense responsibility, President Erdoğan called on administrators to distance themselves from ambition and ostentation.
He reminded them that humility should be the guiding principle in their interactions with the public.
"While serving, we will not succumb to power poisoning, we will not engage in career engineering, and we will pursue no interest other than the safety of our state and our beloved nation, which we are honored to serve." Justice and the Public Interest Concluding his speech, Erdoğan reminded the governors that their positions are a sacred trust.
He stated that the greatest treasures for an administrator are goodness, justice, and prioritizing the public interest.
He urged the governors to show maximum sensitivity regarding the development of the country and providing aid to the oppressed.
