Gamze Oğuz Reacts Sharply to Social Media Hate Speech: "Do We Hate Each Other This Much?"

Accident and Difficult Recovery Process Gamze Oğuz, the AK Party Urla District Promotion President, faced a life-threatening accident last January when she fell from a balcony approximately 7 meters high in the Urla district of Izmir.
Following the fall, she entered a grueling medical treatment process.
Oğuz was rushed into emergency surgery due to serious fractures in her spine and heel.
After the operation, she remained in intensive care and was intubated for a period.
Having survived the life-threatening stage and been discharged, Oğuz stated that she can currently move only with the help of a walker and faces a long road of physical therapy ahead.
Reaction to Social Media Threats During her recovery, Oğuz reported being targeted by insults and open threats on social media.
She noted that some users went as far as saying, "Today you fall by accident, tomorrow you might find yourself hit by a car." Highlighting the deep polarization in society, she expressed her grief by asking, "Do we hate each other this much?" "Humanity is Beyond Political Views" A mother of three, Oğuz emphasized that the fear her children experienced during the accident deeply wounded her.
She argued that human values should be held above politics.
Recalling the importance of cooperation and helping those in need in Anatolian culture, she called for social solidarity.
"We are an Anatolian civilization.
In our culture, a person who falls is helped without asking about their political views, religion, or race.
However, the ill-treatment I encountered has saddened me deeply.
Women, in particular, should support one another," she said.
