110 workers at the GM Teknik Glass factory in Amasya Merzifon have reached the 220th day of their strike over wage and social rights disputes. Members of the Kristal-İş Union state they will continue their action until their demands for humane living standards are met.

Seventh Month of Strike Surpassed The strike at the GM Teknik Glass factory, located in the Amasya Merzifon Organized Industrial Zone (OSB), has reached its 220th day following the failure of collective bargaining negotiations between the Kristal-İş Union and the employer.
The 110 workers, who stopped working on July 17, are carrying out one of the longest-running labor resistances in the region's history.
Negotiations Remain Inconclusive Following the completion of the union authorization process, a collective bargaining marathon began, involving 10 different sessions over seven months.
However, no agreement could be reached regarding wage increases and social rights during these meetings.
Workers stated that the employer's offers remained below the minimum wage and the hunger threshold, expressing that the low increase rates offered were unacceptable.
Demand for Humane Living Conditions Gathering in Cumhuriyet Square to make their voices heard, the workers are demanding the recognition of union rights and a wage arrangement suitable for humane living standards.
Highlighting that even symbolic increase offers of 28 TL net were brought to the negotiation table, the employees stated they would continue the production halt and strike watch at the factory until they receive their rights.
