Journalist Alican Uludağ Arrested on Charges of "Insulting the President"

Investigation Process and Arrest Decision Journalist Alican Uludağ, who was detained at his home in Ankara, was brought to Istanbul and referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.
Following his statement to the prosecution, Uludağ was referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace on charges of "publicly insulting the president." The court ordered his arrest, and he was subsequently sent to Metris Prison.
Charges Filed As part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Uludağ faced charges of "insulting the president," "insulting the Turkish nation, the State of the Republic of Turkey, and the institutions and organs of the state," and "publicly disseminating misleading information." Following his defense, Uludağ was transferred to prison under the arrest warrant.
