The Principle of the Best Interests of the Child In a statement, the Board emphasized that this step was taken in accordance with the "best interests of the child" principle.
Highlighting the critical importance of protecting children's data in digital spaces, the Impact of Digitalization on Child Development Minister of Family and Social Services, Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, shared significant data regarding the effects of digital platforms on children.
Göktaş stated that children's attention spans have decreased by at least 30 percent over the last 10 years, noting that this situation directly negatively impacts focusing skills, social relationships, and academic success.
The newly launched regulations and investigations aim to minimize risks in the digital environment and enhance the safety of children online.
