Investigation into Digital Safety Measures In the first phase of the audit, the adequacy of technical and administrative measures taken by platforms to protect children from harmful content and digital risks will be questioned.
The Authority will conduct a detailed analysis of how protective data security protocols are for child users.
Algorithms and the "Best Interests" Principle In the second phase, the compliance of the applications' algorithms and terms of use with the "best interests of the child" principle, which prioritizes psychological and physical safety, will be evaluated.
Within this scope, it will be meticulously examined whether algorithms manipulate child users or direct them to inappropriate content.
Potential Sanctions and Policy Changes Heavy administrative sanctions may be applied to platforms that fail to comply with the legislation and established standards.
This move signals a potential shift in policy regarding how social media giants handle the data of minors in the region.
