Support for Education in the Earthquake Zone MediaMarkt Turkey and the Educational Volunteers Foundation of Turkey (TEGV) are continuing their "Better with Education" program, designed to support access to quality education for children in provinces affected by the earthquake.
The "Firefly" mobile education trucks, deployed in Hatay, Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş, and Malatya, offer modern educational opportunities to local children.
1.6 Million Euro Resource Allocated Hulusi Acar, CEO of MediaMarkt Turkey, stated that the project was launched to provide lasting benefits beyond the initial 400,000 Euro emergency aid provided to the region following the disaster.
Acar explained that after internal evaluations, a roadmap focused on education and children was established, with a total of 1.6 million Euros allocated to the project.
Goal to Reach 24,000 Students Providing information on the project's current status and future goals, Acar noted that 11,297 children have been reached so far.
The aim is to increase this number to 24,000 by the end of the fourth year.
The educational programs, covering children aged 8-14, are conducted through thematic mobile units in different provinces.
The "Science Firefly" operates in Hatay, the "Informatics and Design Firefly" in Gaziantep and Kahramanmaraş, and the "Dream Traveler Firefly" in Malatya.
AI Integration in the Curriculum Hulusi Acar mentioned that artificial intelligence has been included in the curriculum this year, emphasizing the goal of raising children who do not just use technology but manage and direct it.
"We are planting seeds of science, technology, and art in the minds of these children between the ages of 8 and 14," Acar said, summarizing the project's vision.
