Youth and Sports Minister Osman Aşkın Bak inaugurated a new sports hall at Eskişehir Anadolu University and announced plans for a new 3,000-capacity student dormitory in the city.

New Sports Facility Inaugurated in Eskişehir Youth and Sports Minister Osman Aşkın Bak attended the opening ceremony of the Yunus Emre Sports Hall, built on the Yunus Emre Campus of Eskişehir Anadolu University.
Describing Eskişehir as a city of sports, Minister Bak emphasized that the nationwide initiative to build sports facilities continues at full speed.
Sports Investments and Infrastructure Drive Minister Bak stated that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s background in sports has accelerated investments, leading to the construction of UEFA-standard stadiums, modern sports halls, and swimming pools across Turkey.
Highlighting the importance of the new facility at Anadolu University, Bak expressed the goal of training future European, world, and Olympic champions at these centers.
"Turkey is rapidly progressing toward becoming a sports country," Bak said, adding that sports should become a lifestyle.
Swimming Education and Healthy Living Drawing attention to projects aimed at spreading sports to the grassroots level, Minister Bak announced that approximately 1,000 semi-olympic and olympic swimming pools have been put into service across Turkey.
Noting that 12 million people have been taught to swim in the last six years, Bak called on parents to encourage their children to take up sports.
The Minister emphasized that sports are the most effective tool against the increasing sedentary lifestyle and digital addiction among youth, stating that the fight against obesity is among their priorities.
Student Dormitories and Housing Opportunities Addressing the student potential in Eskişehir, Minister Bak noted that approximately 70,000 students are studying in the city and announced plans for a new 3,000-capacity dormitory project.
Stating that modern housing is provided to students with a dormitory infrastructure that has reached a capacity of 1 million beds across Turkey, Bak added that investments in this area will continue to increase.
