Minister Çiftçi: Century of Türkiye Means Security as Strong as the Economy

Iftar Meeting with the Gendarmerie Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi met with gendarmerie personnel during an iftar program held at the Gendarmerie Special Public Security Command (JÖAK).
Speaking at the event, which was also attended by Gendarmerie General Commander General Ali Çardakcı, Minister Çiftçi highlighted the historical significance of the gendarmerie within the Turkish state tradition.
He stated that the organization has carried its centuries-old understanding of justice and order into the present day with modern discipline.
The Strategic Role of JÖAK and Disaster Response Minister Çiftçi noted that JÖAK, established in 1999, has specialized in a wide range of duties from counter-terrorism to search and rescue in a short period.
He drew attention to the unit's success in humanitarian aid activities alongside its operational strength.
Emphasizing that the selflessness displayed by Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) teams during the Van and Kahramanmaraş earthquakes, as well as various flood and fire disasters, has earned a place in the national memory, the Minister reminded the audience of JÖAK's critical importance for national security.
Defense Industry and the Century of Türkiye Vision Minister Çiftçi noted that Türkiye has entered a domestic and national era that minimizes foreign dependency in the defense industry, stating that this development provides a strategic advantage in the field.
Expressing that the "Century of Türkiye" vision encompasses a security structure as strong as its economy, Çiftçi made the following assessment: "It means deterrence as strong as diplomacy.
At the backbone of this deterrence lies the national move of our defense industry and the sacrifice of our gendarmerie." Stating that domestic technologies increase the effectiveness of security units in every field from counter-terrorism to cyber security, Minister Çiftçi underlined the advantages provided by national technologies on the ground.
