Social Housing Lottery Held in Gaziantep Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum attended the "Homeowner Türkiye" lottery ceremony held in Gaziantep.
As part of the "500,000 Social Housing" project, the beneficiaries of 13,890 houses to be built across Gaziantep were determined during the ceremony.
Minister Kurum stated that with the completion of these projects, the housing supply in the city will increase, thereby reducing pressure on rents and prices.
It was reported that the houses in Gaziantep are planned to be delivered to their owners by March 2027.
Construction Process in the Earthquake Zone Referring to the work carried out following the February 6 earthquakes, Minister Kurum reminded that the first foundations were laid on the 46th day after the disaster.
He emphasized that the construction process in the region is not limited to housing but is being carried out as a holistic reconstruction mobilization including marketplaces, squares, social facilities, and infrastructure.
"There is no other country that could conduct ground surveys, design projects, and deliver 455,000 houses within two years," Kurum stated.
Investments and Delivery Targets Minister Kurum responded to criticisms regarding investments in the earthquake zone, drawing attention to the scale of the services provided and the speed of the reconstruction efforts.
