Fake Social Media Account Operation in Muğla: Journalists and Politicians Detained

Second Wave of Disinformation Investigation A second wave of operations has been carried out as part of a Muğla-based investigation into disinformation and insults disseminated through fake social media accounts.
During simultaneous raids at designated addresses, eight suspects, including local journalists, were taken into custody.
Detained Individuals and Locations As part of the operation, journalist H.T.
was detained in Menteşe, journalist M.T.
in Milas, and journalist S.C.B.
in Fethiye.
Additionally, O.A., a former provincial chairman of a political party, along with M.G., S.K., U.K., and H.B., were among those apprehended within the scope of the investigation.
Background of the Investigation This operation marks the second phase of a comprehensive investigation launched in the city several months ago.
In the initial stage of the probe, two suspects were arrested and sent to prison by the court.
The eight suspects currently in custody are expected to be referred to the courthouse following the completion of their statements at the police department.
