Bonus Adjustments in the Cabinet Meeting With the Ramadan Feast approaching, the increase in holiday bonuses for millions of retirees has become a priority on the government's agenda.
A Cabinet meeting, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is expected to detail the increase rates and the payment schedule for these bonuses.
Eligible Beneficiaries The holiday bonus payments cover a wide social segment beyond just retirees.
In addition to those receiving old-age, duty disability, and death pensions from the Social Security Institution (SGK), the following groups will also benefit from the payments: Relatives of martyrs and veterans Security guards Champion athletes Civilian victims of terrorism Increase Scenarios and Potential Figures Technical studies conducted by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security are focusing on three different scenarios.
According to insider information, the bonus for a single holiday is projected to be increased to a level between 5,000 TL and 6,000 TL.
If the bonus is set at 5,000 TL, the total annual payment for both religious holidays will reach 10,000 TL.
If the figure is set at 6,000 TL, the total annual payment will be 12,000 TL.
When Will the Payment Schedule Begin?
Considering the timing of the Ramadan Feast, the government aims to deposit the payments into accounts before the holiday begins.
Following the passage of the necessary legal regulation through the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly, payments are expected to begin starting from the second week of March.
