New Week at the Turkish Parliament: National Parks and Land Ownership Regulations on the Agenda

Discussions on National Parks Law Continue The General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM) will continue its deliberations this week on a bill proposing amendments to the National Parks Law.
The proposal aims to redefine the boundaries of existing and future national parks while prioritizing ecological balance.
The regulation includes critical provisions for the protection of wildlife and the strengthening of sustainable environmental management.
Additionally, the bill envisages expanding the authority of the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks.
This change is intended to prevent environmental degradation in protected areas and make legal sanctions more effective.
New 29-Article Proposal from the AK Party The Justice and Development Party (AK Party) has submitted a new 29-article legislative proposal to the Office of the Speaker of the Parliament, aimed at resolving land ownership issues involving properties under the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ).
The proposal seeks to address chronic title deed problems related to areas that lost their forest status many years ago and have since become residential settlements.
Under the regulation, the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre is planned to re-examine lands that are still officially recorded as forests but have transitioned into residential areas.
By changing the title status of eligible areas, the bill aims to eliminate ownership disputes.
Group Meetings and Political Agenda Political party group meetings are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, where leaders are expected to evaluate developments in domestic and foreign policy.
Leaders are also anticipated to express their parties' views on the legislative proposals currently on the agenda.
