Leading Export Cities The Ministry of Commerce has released foreign trade data for January 2026.
During this period, total exports reached $20.328 billion, with 35 provinces recording an increase in export volume.
Four cities successfully surpassed the $1 billion threshold.
Following Istanbul, the provinces with the highest export figures were: Kocaeli: $2.546 billion Izmir: $1.795 billion Bursa: $1.388 billion Ankara ranked fifth on the list with an export volume of $950 million.
Provinces with the Highest Growth Compared to the same period last year, Ankara saw the largest increase in export volume, rising by $179 million.
Ankara was followed by Sakarya with an increase of $142 million, Şırnak with $70 million, Çorum with $53 million, and Samsun with $47 million.
Tekirdağ, Sakarya, Mersin, Gaziantep, and Manisa maintained their positions among the top ten exporting cities.
Strategic Goals and Market Diversification In a statement, the Ministry of Commerce noted that efforts toward market and product diversification continue with a focus on high value-added and competitive exports.
The Ministry emphasized its goal of spreading export activities across the country to strengthen economic prosperity through increased local production and employment.
