TÜRKONFED and Energy NGOs Join Forces for Green Transformation Ahead of COP31

Business World Unites for Green Transformation The Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation (TÜRKONFED) has brought together energy and sustainability-focused non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to encourage the business world's participation in the green transformation process and enhance its global competitiveness.
This strategic meeting, held ahead of the 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which Turkey is set to host, aims to ensure that processes are carried out in a coordinated manner.
The hybrid meeting, organized by the TÜRKONFED Green Transformation Commission, included representatives from various organizations including ÇEVKO, DÜRED, ESİAD, EYODER, ERTA, Global Compact Turkey, HESİAD, SKD Turkey, SHURA Energy Transition Center, SÜT-D, SADE, TÇÜD, and TÜSİAD.
Focus on Energy Efficiency and Water Management During the meeting, critical topics such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, emission reduction, and the circular economy were evaluated in detail within the framework of energy transition.
Considering Turkey's risk of water scarcity, the issue of water management was also addressed in integration with energy-oriented processes.
Emphasizing the direct relationship between the protection of resources and climate goals, participants stated that energy efficiency and resource management must be handled as a whole.
The participating organizations reached a consensus on contributing to the strengthening of Turkey's positions during and after the COP31 process.
Supporting policy proposals with data and protecting the global competitiveness of the business world were among the primary objectives of the meeting.
Collaborative Culture and Strong Advocacy Onur Ünlü, Vice President of TÜRKONFED and Chairman of the Green Transformation Commission, stated that the primary goal of the meeting was to establish a culture of collaborative work in the field of green transformation.
"By supporting our policy recommendations with data, we will contribute to Turkey's green transformation process while developing solutions to protect the competitiveness of our business world.
Our doors are open to all stakeholders for a sustainable future.
By joining forces, we are determined to make Turkey's voice heard more strongly in both national and international arenas," Ünlü said.
