Market Performance and Index Movements The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul lost the upward momentum it had maintained since the beginning of the year, concluding the week of February 16-20 on a negative note.
The index, which started the week at 14,269.21 points, saw a weekly decline of 1.74%, closing at 13,934.06 points.
Throughout the week, the BIST 100 reached a high of 14,532.67 points and a low of 13,718.14 points.
While the index managed to stay above the 14,000-point mark during the first three days, a sharp sell-off on Thursday pushed it downward.
Despite a positive closing on Friday driven by reaction buying, the index was unable to recover its weekly losses.
Top Gainers and Losers Among the companies included in the BIST 100 index, Destek Finans Faktoring (DSTKF) was the top performer of the week with a significant increase of 35.64%.
It was followed by Tr Anadolu Metal Madencilik (TRMET) with an 11.35% rise and Galatasaray (GSRAY) with an 8.94% gain.
On the other hand, Girişim Elektrik (GESAN) led the list of stocks that lost the most value for investors, dropping by 16.70%.
Other notable declines included Qua Granit (QUAGR) with a 14.16% loss and Ral Yatırım Holding (RALYH) with a 13.51% decrease.
Market Capitalization and Trading Volume ASELSAN (ASELS) maintained its position as the most valuable company on Borsa Istanbul with a total market capitalization of 1.428 trillion TL.
It was followed by Kiler Holding (KLRHO) at 714 billion TL and Garanti BBVA (GARAN) at 662.34 billion TL.
In terms of trading volume, Turkish Airlines (THYAO) took the lead with 99.847 billion TL.
Following Turkish Airlines, Aselsan recorded a trading volume of 68.733 billion TL, while İş Bankası (ISCTR) completed the week with 56.002 billion TL.
