Borsa Istanbul Closes Week Higher: Banking Index Leads Gains

Positive Closing for BIST 100 Index Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index concluded the week on a positive note, recovering from a weak start to the day as buying interest intensified.
The banking index rose by 1.85%, while sectoral performances showed significant divergence.
The financial leasing and factoring sector emerged as the day's top performer with an 8.04% increase.
Conversely, the holding index underperformed, closing down by 0.39%.
Domestic Economic Indicators and Investment Position According to data from the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT), the country's net international investment position stood at minus $324.9 billion as of the fourth quarter.
Domestically, the Real Sector Confidence Index rose by 2.5 points in February compared to the previous month, reaching 104.1.
During the same period, the capacity utilization rate (CUR) in the manufacturing industry decreased by 0.6 points, settling at 73.5%.
Global Markets and US Growth Data Global market sentiment was influenced by the fourth-quarter growth data for the US economy in 2025.
The US economy grew by 1.4%, falling short of expectations.
This slowdown was attributed to a decline in consumer spending and the impact of the longest government shutdown in history, factors that shaped the risk appetite of global investors.
Upcoming Agenda and Technical Levels Analysts indicate that next week's domestic focus will be on the foreign trade balance, economic confidence index, and unemployment rates.
Internationally, a heavy data schedule is expected, including the US Producer Price Index (PPI), Eurozone inflation, and growth data from Germany.
From a technical perspective, the BIST 100 index faces resistance at the 14,100 and 14,200 levels, while the 13,800 and 13,700 levels serve as key support zones.
