New Roadmap in the Digital World Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş met with game content creators and industry representatives to address children's safety in the digital world.
During the meeting, the risks brought by digitalization and the measures that can be taken against these risks were comprehensively evaluated.
Minister Göktaş highlighted the importance of developing a common strategy by listening directly to the solution proposals of industry representatives.
"A Guiding Rather Than Prohibitive Approach" Stating that children's presence on digital platforms is inevitable, Minister Göktaş defined the ministry's vision as "an approach that guides and supervises rather than prohibits." Göktaş noted that they aim for children to be in peace and safety in digital spaces, just as in all areas of life, emphasizing that this approach marks the beginning of a guidance-oriented era in digital policies.
Goal of a Safe Digital Ecosystem One of the primary goals of the meeting was identified as cooperation among all stakeholders for the healthy development of children.
Minister Göktaş stated that they aim to build a safe digital ecosystem by working together with content creators, adding that negative content will be brought under control and digital literacy will be increased during this process.
Through this cooperation, the objective is to protect children from risks in the digital world and help them gain conscious media consumption habits.
