February 6, 2026 Agenda: Commemoration Ceremonies in Earthquake Zones and Political Engagements

Commemoration Programs and Openings in the Earthquake Zone Comprehensive commemoration programs are being organized across Turkey on the anniversary of the February 6 earthquakes.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will attend a ceremony in Osmaniye themed "Born from the Ashes Again, Look at the Power of My Turkey." As part of the program, a mass opening ceremony for various completed investments in the region will also be held.
Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), Numan Kurtulmuş, is also expected to attend the event.
Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel will continue his visits to the earthquake zone in the provinces of Adıyaman and Malatya.
Özel will visit the Şambayat and Gölbaşı municipalities in Adıyaman, followed by a press statement in Doğanşehir, Malatya, and participation in commemoration ceremonies for citizens who lost their lives in the city center.
Politics and Diplomacy Agenda Diplomatic activity in Ankara continues with a meeting between Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Marta Kos, the European Union Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement.
The meeting is expected to cover Turkey-EU relations and regional strategic issues.
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç will attend the Legal Remedy Applications Conference and a business world meeting in Afyonkarahisar.
Internationally, the ceasefire process in Gaza and the humanitarian situation in the region are being closely monitored.
Significant Developments in the World of Sports Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak will represent Turkey at the opening ceremony of the 25th Winter Olympic Games at the San Siro Stadium in Milan and Cortina, Italy.

In basketball, Anadolu Efes will host the Lithuanian representative Zalgiris Kaunas in the 27th week of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
