New Funding Source for Content Creators Gamefam, a metaverse media company focused on Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences, has announced the launch of a $5 million "Creator Fund" dedicated to developers creating user-generated content (UGC) on platforms such as Roblox and Fortnite.
Founded in 2019, the company is well-known for its collaborations with global brands including Paramount, Warner Music Group, NFL, Netflix, Mattel, and Sony.
Gamefam CEO Joe Ferencz noted that brands like Barbie, Sonic, and SpongeBob SquarePants have achieved significant success on these platforms.
The company's portfolio includes popular titles such as Sonic Speed Simulator, Twilight Daycare, and Barbie DreamHouse Tycoon.
The new fund aims to expand these successes through independent creators.
Scope of the Fund and Provided Benefits The Gamefam Creator Fund will offer selected content creators seed capital ranging from $10,000 to $100,000, depending on the scale of their projects.
In addition to financial support, participants will have access to guidance in several specialized areas: Game design and monetization model structuring Marketing assistance and analytical data support Opportunities to establish partnerships with major brands Ferencz highlighted the high potential of Roblox in terms of user engagement, stating that the platform's growth momentum offers strategic opportunities for independent developers.
Application Requirements and Eligibility Criteria Specific criteria have been announced for projects and creators applying to the fund.
While the fund will primarily focus on Roblox and Fortnite projects, all other UGC gaming platforms will be considered.
There are no geographical restrictions for applications, allowing creators from all over the world to participate in the program.
To be considered, candidates must have a working prototype of their game or a history of publishing a successful game.
Additionally, applicants must ensure that their existing employment contracts do not conflict with participation in the fund.
Through this initiative, Gamefam plans to continue encouraging creativity and community engagement within the metaverse ecosystem.
