Major Investment of 250 Million Euros in İzmit Plant Hyundai has made a comprehensive investment of 250 million euros in its İzmit factory to increase production capacity and accelerate the transition to electric vehicles in Turkey.
This investment covers the EV body base, high-voltage battery integration, and power electronics systems designed specifically for the new Ioniq 3 model.
Mass production of the Ioniq 3 is set to begin in August, making it the second locally produced electric model by Hyundai in Turkey.
Turkey Becomes Europe's Ioniq Production Hub The İzmit factory will serve as the first production center for the Ioniq model family in Europe.
Additionally, the facility will become the only factory in Europe to utilize Hyundai's dedicated E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) for electric vehicles.
A significant portion of the manufactured vehicles is intended for export to more than 40 countries, aiming to provide a strategic contribution to the Turkish economy and the automotive industry.
Milestone at the Czech Republic Factory Another key point in Hyundai's global production network, the Nošovice factory in the Czech Republic, has rolled its 5 millionth vehicle off the production line.
This milestone vehicle was a Tucson Hybrid.
Since 2020, the factory has produced more than 650,000 electric vehicles.
The Kona Electric, the first electric vehicle to be mass-produced in the Czech Republic, reached a production figure of approximately 200,000 units during this period.
The company plans to continue its expansion in the global electric vehicle market by making additional investments in both its Czech and Turkish facilities in the coming years.
