Justice Minister Gürlek Shares Details of 12th Judicial Package: Child Definition and Social Media Regulation

New Era in Judicial Reform: The 12th Judicial Package Justice Minister Akın Gürlek has shared significant details regarding the preparations for the 12th Judicial Package, which envisions comprehensive changes to the judicial system.
Minister Gürlek stated that the new regulations aim to make legal processes more effective and faster.
Updating the Definition of 'Children Driven to Crime' One of the most notable provisions of the package is the change to be made in the definition of "children driven to crime." Minister Gürlek indicated that they are conducting coordinated work with the Ministry of Family and Social Services on this matter.
This regulation, which will directly affect the position of children within the justice system and their rehabilitation processes, will be shaped through the joint efforts of the two ministries.
Minister Gürlek also announced that following the passage of the legal regulation by the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM), the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) will manage the technical process regarding social media identity verification.
