Minister Bak: 41 Stadiums Completed Across Turkey, Ankara Stadium to Open in 2026

Youth and Sports Minister Osman Aşkın Bak announced that 41 stadiums meeting UEFA and FIFA standards have been completed across Turkey, with the new 55,000-capacity Ankara Stadium set to open in 2026.

Modernization of Sports Infrastructure Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak made statements regarding ongoing sports investments across Turkey.
Stating that 41 stadiums meeting UEFA and FIFA standards have been built to date, Minister Bak emphasized that the modern facility development process continues without slowing down.
He noted that investments are not limited to stadiums, but also include indoor sports halls, Olympic swimming pools, and athletics tracks, moving Turkey steadily toward becoming a sports country.
Ankara Stadium to Open in 2026 Providing information about the new stadium under construction in Ankara as part of the preparations for the 2032 UEFA European Football Championship (EURO 2032), which Turkey will co-host with Italy, Minister Bak highlighted the project's significance.
He announced that the 55,000-capacity Ankara Stadium ranks third in the world for its steel construction and is planned to be put into service by mid-2026.
Youth Development and Social Goals Emphasizing that one of the primary goals of building sports facilities is to keep young people away from bad habits such as digital addiction and drugs, Minister Bak made a call to families.
He touched upon the positive effects of directing children to sports at an early age on their social development, stating that sports should become a way of life.
Concluding his speech by wishing success to the National Football Team, the Minister added that their main goal is to participate in the 2026 World Cup.
Following the facility opening in Yozgat, Minister Bak took to the field with protocol members and played football with young athletes.
