President Erdoğan: "Accountability Will Be Sought" Speaking at the AK Party Parliamentary Group Meeting, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized that the attack on the flag would not go unpunished.
"We will certainly find those dirty hands reaching for our flag and hold those traitors accountable," Erdoğan stated.
Calling for common sense among Kurdish citizens in the region, Erdoğan expressed that the true intentions behind such provocations must be recognized and that people should not fall for such schemes.
Bahçeli Criticizes DEM Party MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli held the DEM Party leadership responsible for the events in a written statement.
Arguing that the rhetoric of the party's co-chairs escalated tensions, Bahçeli stated that the attack on the Turkish flag was unacceptable.
Bahçeli emphasized that political entities must maintain a clear distance from terrorism and show respect for shared values such as the national flag.
DEM Party and KCK Label Incident as Provocation The DEM Party, which was at the center of the criticism, issued a condemnation message stating that disrespect toward the flag, a common value of society, is unacceptable.
In a statement attributed to the KCK, the events were described as a "provocation" aimed at sabotaging the process of peace and a democratic society.
MSB: Administrative Investigation Launched Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, Press and Public Relations Counselor for the Ministry of National Defense (MSB), provided an update on the situation during a weekly press briefing.
He confirmed that an administrative investigation has been launched regarding the incident to determine the details of the attempt and any security lapses on the border line.
